Greenock Model Yacht & Power Boat Club
Location :  Greenock

Home Water :  Murdieston Dam, Greenock

Club Summary :

The club was initially founded as the Greenock Model Yacht Club in 1878.  In 1879, Club members raised, by subscription, the sum of £60 towards the construction of a Club Room & Boat House and the original building has been extended several times since then.
In 1990 a Scale Boat section was formed and the Club name changed to Model Yacht & Power Boat Club.

The Club has in excess of 40 members whose interests are predominantly yachts but Scale Models are rapidly gaining numbers.

Murdieston Dam is an excellent yachting venue with steady and predictable wind conditions and the Club have hosted many national events over the years.

The facilities (including toilets) are excellent and visiting Clubs are always welcome.
