The Federation is an independent, non-profit making umbrella organisation, set up and managed by Model Boating Clubs in Scotland, to represent their interests; to provide support and guidance as required; to co-ordinate activities between the member clubs and to run a National championship for Scotland, hosted by member clubs, alternating between West & East coast..
The Federation has obtained Third Party Public Liability Insurance cover that is available to affiliated clubs on payment of annual dues calculated on a per-capita basis.
Cover is NOT provided for pyrotechnics events nor for charity events where club boats are used by members of the public.

Affiliation fees therefore cover two elements:
Firstly, a small charge to cover the operating costs of the organisation and
Secondly, the third party public liability insurance cost.
The Federation affairs are governed by a Constitution, a copy of which is on this web site.
In accordance with this constitution the SFMBC Annual General Meeting is held on the last Sunday of February and advance notice (2 weeks) is given to member club representatives.
