Although primarily aimed at model rail enthusiasts there will be lots of traders offering electrical and electronic bits and pieces suitable for the model boat builder (lights, cable connectors, switches, small motors etc.) and, if you need solder and fluxes and other joining up goodies then CL Finescale will have a stand.  OMNI Electronics from Edinburgh will have a stand (you should see their stock list!!) as will Harburn Hobbies.

Festival of Model Boating at Beale Park

(Pangbourne, Berkshire)

 

All types of model boat club are welcome to attend and we are offering an allocation of free admission tickets to any club that commits to attend and display their members boats throughout the weekend.

The details are:

- Bring your own gazebo or display tent .......we will allocate you a reserved space to setup.

- There will be free caravanning or camping pitches for your club members (must be booked in advanced).

- Each club will be offered 10 free (1-day) admission tickets.

- Additional reduced price admission tickets available if booked in advance

- Free parking.

We are hoping to make this one of the biggest model boat events in the South of England during 2008.

MODEL SHOW PLUS BMFA FLYING DISPLAY

Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum

on the B3151 just off the A303 and A37.

It is accessible from the M5 motorway, junction 25 at Taunton.

 

The South West's largest model show.

Over 2000 visitors are expected to attend the show. 120 traders and clubs will be present to offer unusual retail opportunities and advice on modeling techniques. The British Model Flying Assn will, weather permitting, run a flying display demonstrating their world class skills as model makers and pilots.

There will open competitions with generous prizes donated by Airfix. The competitions are open to all There will be eight categories of entry, from aircraft and boats to civilian vehicles and figures. Any type of model, whether scratch-built or kit will be eligible and a special award will be given to the best Airfix model.

So if you have a model which will stand the scrutiny of the judges, bring it along to the Museum, you could walk away with a prize.

(Please note that Feb 9th is one of three days in 2008 when those with Gift Aid passes will not be given free entry)
