The web master has done a great job with the various picture galleries. However I am left wondering why so few pictures of boats in their natural environment, that is in the water, have been submitted. The massed ranks of boats on static display a federation regattas seldom seem to be matched with massed fleets in the water Exclamation Exclamation

Thanks MP ... glad you like whats up here Smile

I guess, in part at least, the lack of 'massed boats' pictures may be down to my selection of whats available. But I think its also due to the fact that so many of the competitions being run focus on individual boats.
Hopefully this will change as there is greater focus on 'just sailing' rather than competition.
I know that in the Edinburgh club, we have a rapid decrease in the number of those interested in competing during the last couple of years.

I'll have a shuffle through my many pictures and see what I can do but I'd really appreciate some more picture contributions from our viewers.
My sincere thanks to those who have recently contributed .....

Hi Eddie, there are a number of options to choose from:
[1] if you are on broadband, zip the images and email them to me.
[2] if not or If you have more than say 10 high resolution images it'd probably be better to burn them onto a CD and post them.
[3] If you can't burn CD's then consider using photobucket.com to store them and simply send me the URL so that I can pick them up. (Photobucket is free)
[4] lastly, if you know how to FTP files, I'll send you the address of my data site and you can stick them up there.

If at all possible send the high resolution images. This gives me the possibility of resizing, cropping etc without losing definition.

Many thanks,
Iain

Great clip WeeJockW with a well matched sound track! Very evocative, I remember the Amethyst incident well, although I was a very young schoolboy at the time Wink

Thanks Max, here's another model built by the same guy, Mick Bradley of GMYPBC. This time it's the U2540, hope you like the soundtrack on this one as well.

Another vid of the Amethyst and HMS Peacock, thyis was the last time that the Amethyst sailed on the Dam. Shortly afterwards she moved to Glasgow.

Iain isn't to keen on having Yoututbe linked to the site, so if you want to see boats on the water and what we get up to in Greenock, have a wee look here. All the videos have been shot by either myself or my wife, edited by me and uploaded by me.

A Fuji Finepix S5700 and a Sony Handycam, hence the reason for the shakes in some of the films.

Part of the enjoyment of doing the films, is finding the music to match.

I've sent a link to Iain for my photobucket, so that he can put up pics under the GMYPBC Banner in the Gallery. The you'll see even more boats on the water Smile

Thank you very much for the link WeeJockW. What a great collection of pikkies!!! I am truly spoiled for choice now .......
I'm very pleased that the video clips work OK.

Having just rebuilt my PC after a smelly and damaging power supply failure I have a lot to catch up on.

Many thanks.

Your welcome Iain, sorry for the lack of captions, I created the album in a hurry.

Hope the power supply problem didn't do to much damage.

The photobucket vid links working well, unfortunately photobucket only allow 5mins of video at 100mb. Most of my stuff is longer and bigger.
