Think it's about time a separate heading was set up for video

If a photo album link was added for members using Picasa etc this would, I believe, add greatly to the number of pictures of models available at no cost in bandwidth space to the site.

Any thoughts Question

I've spoken to Iain about this and he isn't to keen on links to youtube, photobucket limit times 5mins and size 100meg.

Youtube allow films of 10min length and 1gig in size.

Cant link to any videos, but can link to my youtube page for GMYPBC.

Thanks for the reply,I was getting loanly Rolling Eyes or does no-one want to express an opinion?

I know of Ian's objection, but if his preferred option of Photobucket is used, the video's could be kept short!!! I am sure you add lots of small clips together to get your video, can't figure out why we don't want YouTube people seeing our video's.
I sent a link to Ayr mbc re. their open day & they have posted it on their web site http://www.ayrmodelboatclub.org/ I think video clips enhance "our hobby"

Thoughts please

Your welcome.

I thought the whole idea of the Federation was to promote "Model Boats" and that this would be reflected in the website. Thanks to Youtube the Greenock Club is now known worldwide, with comments from South Korea to New Zealand, the video of the MFV Defiant has gone down well in the Faroe Islands.

Photobucket videos aren't as well known and making 2 videos one for Youtube and one for Photobucket isn't really worth the effort, given the number of views on the later.

Content for the site is needed, and when offered should be used.

I have been checking both the bandwidth and available space in light of recent upgrading by Namesco and I am pleased to advise that, in response to popular demand ........ I have added a new Forum Topic titled Boating Videos in the General area and look forward to it being well filled Smile

UTube; Photobucket ... whatever should be OK. We'll just have to watch useage as time passes.

Obviously anything at all dubious will be promptly removed but I'm sure you'd expect that anyhow.

Many thanks for all your contributions and suggestions - it's what keeps this whole thing alive Laughing
